CHAD TILLMAN
Chad Tillman worked for SAIC as a 3D analyst in the DoD Targets Management Program for 20 years. Have been an EMT with Huntsville Madison County Rescue for 16 years. 7 years ago, started a drone program at Huntsville-Madison County Rescue Squad. After that, he became involved in helping form the North Alabama UAS Working Group. 5 years ago he and Phil Owen started the Unmanned Aerial Systems Information and Analysis Organization (501c6) to support agencies starting UAS programs. UAS ISAO started working with Huntsville Police Department 4 years ago to develop a UAS program. He developed a a patrol based program for HPD that places UAS in patrol vehicles across all shifts and precincts. In the first year in operation Huntsville Police Department flew just under 400 flights with 6 pilots. AT that point He began working with HPD as UAS Program Director. Currently he manages a program with 30 pilots and 32 aircraft, with over 6500 logged flights, 3700 hours and 3500 miles, and averaging 200 flights a month this year. The average response time is under 7 minutes. UAS operations are fully integrated with Bomb, SWAT, STAC, and K-9. HPD is currently planning a DFR program to layer on top of current program to enhance response time. This program will respond across our Public Safety agencies.
